Look Who's in the Kitchen: A Cookbook and Training Guide That Empowers New,
Aspiring, or Returning Blind Cooks in the Kitchen!

Chef Jerilyn is proud to introduce "Look Who's in the Kitchen" - a
groundbreaking cookbook and training guide designed specifically for those
who are visually impaired or blind.

Chef Jerilyn has served as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired,
Rehabilitation Teacher/Instructor, and entrepreneur-and she also happens to
be totally blind.

This innovative instructional guide empowers readers to navigate the kitchen
with confidence, fostering safety, creativity, and independence through
accessible cooking techniques.

"Look Who's in the Kitchen" breaks new ground by offering step-by-step
recipes and hands-on practical tips tailored to those with vision
impairments. From mastering basic skills to preparing delicious meals, Chef
Jerilyn's book ensures that everyone can enjoy the joys of cooking,
regardless of sight.

Author Jerilyn Higgins, a passionate advocate for inclusivity, brings her
expertise and enthusiasm to this unique project. "Cooking is about more than
just food-it's about self-reliance and creativity," says Chef Jerilyn. "This
book is for anyone who wants to be safe and independent in the kitchen and
savor the experience."

Carol Castellano, Secretary of the National Organization of Parents of Blind
Children, shares: "The blindness community has been waiting for this book!
It has everything a blind cook needs to succeed in the kitchen. Sometimes
blind adults and parents of blind or low-vision children have fears about
handling knives or getting too close to the stove or oven. This book offers
detailed instructions and tips on useful gadgets and safety that can get a
blind person into the kitchen feeling confident and prepared. Enjoy cooking
and buon appetito!"

Pam Allen, Director of the Louisiana Center for the Blind, shares: "So many
blind and low-vision people believe they can no longer cook or manage their
homes independently. This book not only discusses practical techniques and
shares delicious recipes, but it also helps empower people as they develop a
positive mindset about their blindness. Cooking is not only essential for
providing nourishment, but it is also a way to build community and celebrate
milestone moments. Jerilyn is an excellent role model who embodies a
positive philosophy of blindness and lovingly shares her tips and strategies
to help empower blind people so they can provide wonderful meals for their
friends, families, and colleagues."

Dr. Joanne Wilson, Founder and Former Director of the Louisiana Center for
the Blind and Former Commissioner of the Rehabilitation Services
Administration (RSA), shares: "This book is a fantastic resource for blind
or visually impaired individuals who want to learn how to cook. It's clear,
informative, and really well organized. The step-by-step instructions are
easy to follow, and the safety tips are essential. I highly recommend Look
Who's in the Kitchen to any blind or visually impaired individual who wants
to gain confidence in the kitchen and discover the joy of cooking for
themselves."
