[NFBF-L] The 2024 National Federation of the Blind of Florida State Convention Has Been Rescheduled **important, please read**

Greetings Federation Family and Friends:

I hope this email finds everyone getting back into life as we recover from
Hurricane Milton. As previously discussed by our President, the 2024 NFB
State Convention which had to be postponed has now been scheduled. After
careful consideration by the board, and a long discussion with the hotel, we
have decided to hold the convention over the Veterans Day weekend. This
three-day weekend will allow for the same length for our convention as our
members have become accustomed to. 

The convention will take place Friday November 8 until Sunday November 10.
The hotel stands ready to take room reservations as of now. If you will be
attending convention, and you previously had a hotel reservation, you will
need to call the hotel at 904-396-5100 and reserve your room again. 

Also if you previously registered for convention, and you will be attending
during our rescheduled time, you need to contact our Treasurer, Sylvia Young
by emailing treasurer at nfbflorida.org <mailto:treasurer at nfbflorida.org> , or
texting 850-322-5937 to be added to the list of attendees. If you have
previously registered you will not need to pay again, but we do need an
accurate count of attendees so we may provide information to the hotel. If
you were planning to attend convention, but you had not yet registered, now
is your chance. You may visit www.nfbflorida.org <http://www.nfbflorida.org>
and register at a cost of $25 until November 1, 2024. Again, if you
previously paid for registration, you will not be charged a second time. The
$25 cost is only for those who did not previously register and would like to
do so now.

 

The National Federation of the Blind of Florida board would like to thank
each and every one of you for your willingness to be flexible during this
time. Member safety is of the Ut most importance as we plan and hold
conventions. Without you, our members, we do not have the Federation. 

With the new dates in place, we are working hard to make the 2024 State
Convention the best it can be, and we look forward to all of you attending.
