Dear federation members:
I would like to provide our members with updates regarding the approaching storm and our 2024 State Convention.
For those members that are effected with travel arrangements to convention:
1. If you are sure that you will not travel to convention, please call the hotel, and cancel your reservation. Do not presume that the hotel will cancel your reservation automatically. It is your responsibility to cancel the reservation.
Also, please reach out to the state treasurer and let her know that you have canceled your reservation so we can have an accurate count on the members who traveled to Jacksonville. You can contact Sylvia via Email at treasurer at nfbflorida.org<mailto:treasurer at nfbflorida.org> or her mobile number at (850) 322-5937.
The hotel telephone number is: (904) 396-5100
1. For those members who had made travel arrangements to arrive at the hotel Thursday, October 10th, 2024, and are still traveling to convention on Friday, October 11th, 2024, please call the hotel and change your arrival date. The hotel will honor the change of date due to the unforeseen circumstances.
The hotel’s telephone number is: (904) 396-5100
1. As per refunding banquet funds, the hotel has purchased in advance the food and the affiliate paid this weeks in advance, therefore, we cannot refund the banquet purchase.
We are in constant communication with the hotel, and we will provide information as it becomes available. Those members who are in the path of the storm, please heed the warning of the local officials. Make sure if you are asked to evacuate, please do so and do not wait for the last minute.
Again, we will be providing updates on the storm and state convention as they become available.
Sincerely,
Jorge Hernandez, President
