Hello Dan:

Can you verify that something called "game mode" is turned off? Go into
Settings with Windows I and type "game mode" into the search area. Arrow
down to Game Mode settings, and press Enter.

Is Game Mode off or on?

Cordially,

Curtis Chong

Subject: [NFBCS] Game Bar

I am having a very annoying issue in Outlook. I am using the latest versions
of JAWS and windows 11 on an HP laptop. Sometimes when I press the letter
'g' the game bar widget pops up. I did some research using FS Companion and
other AI sources and the consensus was that I should disabled the game bar
in Windows settings. I did that and the problem hasn't gone away. Yesterday
I contacted the Microsoft disability support desk and they did a windows
assist connection with my computer and determined that no Xbox software was
installed and that the game bar was disabled. They helped me perform some
Windows updates and claimed the problem would go away. That hasn't happened.
What makes the situation frustrating is that it is something I can't
consistently replicate. I am using a Mantis Braille display and don't think
the product is the issue. I'm stumped. This is truly a weird situation which
makes no sense. I suppose I could rebuild the computer from the ground up
but I don't want to do that.

Dan
