Curtis’s point about being in the same window is a good one. I think there are also pages that block the back command. They don’t want you going back to something that may have changed after you left it.

I sometimes have trouble with alt-left arrow in Chrome as well. It seems to depend on where I am in the webpage, because, at least sometimes, if I move to a different place, it works. Other times I just end up closing the page and starting over. I try to remember to open new pages in a new window, but often I wildly imagine that things will just work.

Good afternoon Liz,
I am using Windows 11 with the latest Google Chrome with none of the issues you mentioned. What screen reader are you using and what version? Have you tried restarting your computer or restarting your screen reader? These two things generally fix most odd behaviors I experience with browser behavior.
Best regards,
Wendy Walker

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone else is having difficulty using Google Chrome?
I am using the latest version with Windows 11, but I can't use the alt left arrow or alt right arrow keys to go forward or back. When I open a new tab, I can't use control F4 to close the tab when I'm finished.
I reset Chrome to the defaults, and I'm still having problems.
If anyone has suggestions, please let me know
Thanks in advance!
Liz
