[NFBCS] problems with Google Chrome

Hello Liz:

Is it also possible your function keys are not behaving as real function keys. This often happens on new computers because, by default, they are set up to be media keys or action keys, requiring the user to hold down the FN key to invoke what would otherwise be a function key command. I usually have to have the stores re-program the function keys to deal with this problem since those of us who use screen readers need function keys to behave as function keys.

On some brands of computers, if you press FN with Escape, this invokes FN Lock, which then restores function keys to what we would perceive as normal behavior.

Kind regards,

Curtis Chong

Good afternoon Liz,

I am using Windows 11 with the latest Google Chrome with none of the issues you mentioned. What screen reader are you using and what version? Have you tried restarting your computer or restarting your screen reader? These two things generally fix most odd behaviors I experience with browser behavior.

Best regards,

Wendy Walker

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone else is having difficulty using Google Chrome?

I am using the latest version with Windows 11, but I can't use the alt left arrow or alt right arrow keys to go forward or back. When I open a new tab, I can't use control F4 to close the tab when I'm finished.

I reset Chrome to the defaults, and I'm still having problems.

If anyone has suggestions, please let me know

Thanks in advance!

Liz
