Hello! My name is Yoonha Cha, and I am a PhD student at the University
of California, Irvine.
I am leading a research study aiming to understand the self-developed
solutions and / or usage of Generative AI for blind and low vision software
professionals. We are reaching out, looking for participants who
would like to take part and share their stories in a 60-minute
audio-recorded virtual interview session, about
using Generative AI for software development and/or self-developed
solutions to problems.
You are eligible to participate in this study if you:
1. Identify as being blind or having low vision
2. Are working or have worked in a software development position (i.e.,
software engineer, DevOps engineer, tester, accessibility designer, product
manager, director, C-suite, etc.) This could be in either an industry
setting or open source development.
3. Have at least one year of experience working in this role
You will be paid at a rate of $40/hour for your participation via an Amazon
gift card. We acknowledge that the compensation amount is not commensurate with
average hourly rates for people in this industry. We would ideally
like to compensate more, but this project is
supported through a government-funded research grant
and unfortunately we do not have control over the payment amount. If you
are still interested in telling your story and experience to the research
community
and contributing to accessibility research, we would greatly appreciate your
time.
If you are interested in participating in this study, please fill out this
