Hi Amy:
The NFB sent out the list. I am heading for Phoenix or Tucson pretty soon. I
live about 12 miles from the Arizona line near Zuni but I have not had any
other mailings. What did you do for a living before you retired? I am living
in the mountains south of Gallup. I head a nonprofit social justice
organization but am looking for work as a researcher, grants writer, speech
writer, or technology instructor for blind persons. See my websites at
www.nisj.org, www.suddenlyblindadult.org, or
www.enchantingmountaintopparadise.org. My place is for sale and as soon as
it sells I am no longer a New Mexican. I was speech writer to Navajo
President Kelsay aA. Begaye when I was in a head on accident in which
Scotty(12) was killed and I lost my vision and almost everything else. I
spent several years in rehab and at an orientation center for the blind. I
have so many cracks in my ribs and so many broken bones form the accident I
am developing arthitis in the 8500 foot moountains I live in. It was an
extremely rainy year up here and I need dry weather. I can move immediately
if I can find work down there soon since the place is not mortgaged and can
be a vacation home. It is a beautiful place and a wonderful home but I need
relief from the mountain weather if possible. I actually lived in Window
Rock at the time of th e accident but spent months in hospitals, etc.,
before returning to State in NM for a second doctorate which needs a
dissertation when I can get around to it. I should have picked ASU or UA.
Thanks for the email. This is an extremely isolated spot and foolish for a
blind person to live alone way out here. Still the air is clean and pure.
Scott
