I founhd the seminar to be of help in making my decision as to where I'll be
putting the NFB of Hawaii and Quiet Cars website.
Yes, handouts would have been great and I second the need for a PA system in
the Comnputer lab.
Wish there were more time--maybe we can pick-up where we left off at the
convention.
See you all in Dallas.

Subject: [Nfb-web] Webmasters Seminar, Any Thoughts?
Good afternoon everyone,
I noticed that the list has been very quiet following the Webmasters
Seminar this past weekend. I'm curious to hear what folks have to say about
the event so share your thoughts please. For me it was an emotional and
personal experience having had the opportunity to spend a weekend at our
national headquarters and to attend an event held in the NFB Jernigan
Institute. It's an awesome place and one I highly recommend everyone to
visit when the opportunity presents itself. That opportunity didn't come
easy for me. I went at my own expense. I came home still not believing that
I, of all people attended an event at the National Federation of the Blind
Jernigan Institute and stayed over in our national headquarters. But at the
same time I feel a sense of inner piece in that there's a brighter future
ahead for me in this organization.
Since coming home I haven't had much of a chance to work with the CMS,
but was able to connect to the NFB Command Center from here on both of our
computers. I plan to study the documentation to better acquaint myself with
all of the system's capabilities so I can begin creating various types of
pages which I hope will become affiliate Web sites in the coming weeks and
months. I'll be curious to hear what y'all have done with X catalyst since
coming home from the seminar and am interested in hearing your thoughts on
this event.
Finally I wish to public thank Gary Wunder and John Bergrenn for their
work in coordinating this event and instructing us during the weekend. And
of course let me not forget Dr. and Mrs. Maurer, Mrs. Thompson, and others
who worked tirelessly to make this event happen and to ensure that our needs
were met and that our stay at the National Center was a memorable one.
Anyway it's Valentine's Day so I need to go shopping and buy Mary a
something special. She likes those heart-shaped boxes filled with
chocolates so I'll probably get her one for her to snack on later tonight
and to share with her co-workers tomorrow. All the best for a great weekend.
It was great visiting with you all during the seminar last weekend. Talk to
you later.
