[Nfb-web] recording web audio

Brian,

I want to be sure I understand.  One of the strengths of Total Recorder was that it installed its own drivers that 
effectively intercepted the sound stream giving it a leg up on other recording software.  Are you saying this does not 
always work?

My sound card, probably because it is a little older, as a "What you are hearing" output that seems to let any sound 
program record the sound card.  Of course, I use an external synthesizer so that doesn't come through.  If you are using 
a software synthesizer, a second sound card might be a better choice anyway.  Every now and then, I hear old time 
radio dramas with the click of a web page loading in it because someone was apparently grabbing the audio while using 
their machine for something else.  Still, getting what you want to come out of the desired sound card can be tricky, too, 
as I understand it.  Some software will let you choose while other software will use whatever is designated as the 
Windows default.  Good luck.
