[Nfb-web] Poor Marketing & Communication Efforts

Hi Gang,

Charlie, I already said my browser is fine, and
discussed the settings. It's not the browser. The
problem seems to be, simply, there is no visual graphic
with their organizational logo. Well, that plus the
simple fact that whoever wrote their ad needs to get a
bit better at it. (smile)

Mike, it's not ZT's "fault," if anything here is worthy
of blame. There's just no upfront, in-your-face logo
graphic as has seemingly become the norm for Web sites.
This site for some reason doesn't or didn't have an
organizational name/logo graphic on their site. The
organizational name that JFW read, was in the ALT text
of a spacer gif, which are usually "invisible" graphics
that someone with sight does not notice.

Anyway, thanks all. Mike especially, for the point on
JFW reading what is not there visually. That's a new
one on me. Well, okay, no it isn't. In years past
marketers have used that ALT tag to plug in text that
wasn't seen on the site, to try to help with search
engine rankings. 'Tis illegal, or at least seriously
fought against and frowned upon, by the Search Engines
anymore. But this is the first time I've noticed
someone plugging in text to make it better for
screenreader users than for someone with sight. (smile)

Thanks Again, All,
Everett
