[Nfb-web] Outlook Express and Mail Servers

Hi Joe. If you are logged into a server different from the one run by
your email, they often will assign specific ports or even different smtp
addresses you are to use. If, for example, I use Earthlink and dial into
it directly. My smtp address is smtp.earthlink.net. If I try to send a
message to Earthlink from my home cable provider or my work address, the
smtp address is smtpauth.earthlink.net. Port numbers are also different.
I won't say what they are here for that may well be part of Earthlink's
security, but check with your email providers and see if they have
different verification procedures for coming from outside their servers.

Gary

Subject: [Nfb-web] Outlook Express and Mail Servers

Hello everyone,

Please forgive the cross-post and repeated need for help. I swear I
ask
more questions than anyone else combined, but your expertise always
makes me
that much more productive.

I have tried setting up different e-mail identities to separate mail
for
both my jobs and the NFB. I seem to be receiving mail alright, but I
cannot
send mail out. I get an error message saying the connection with the
server
has failed, error number 10,060. I've tried researching this error
number
on the Internet but have not been able to come up with anything
conclusive.
Is there something I am setting up incorrectly with my incoming or
outgoing
ports? Does my router have anything to do with anything? Only my GMail

account works fine in both directions.

Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

          Joe Orozco
