Hi folks. In putting together our seminar for affiliate and division webmasters, I am thinking that we should shoot either for the January date or one in February. I cannot do Nov 3 and 4.

Please note John's reminder about Imagination Fund Grant proposal deadlines and consider making a request if you need funding to attend.

Gary, we initially tossed out the first weekend in November as a possibility. There is also a weekend shortly before the Christmas holiday, but that may be bit much to ask of folks regarding travel around that time. January has a couple of weekends available and February is essentially wide open. So, possible dates include:
Nov 3-4
Dec 15-16
Jan 5-6
Jan 19-20
Feb all dates

As we said at convention, participating affiliates (and divisions) that would like to send their Webmasters to the seminar would essentially be responsible for the cost of travel. The Imagination Fund grants are a well-suited means of funds for this purpose. Unfortunately, the deadline for grant proposals looms immediate--September 4th. The grant application, a Word document, is relatively simple and can be found at http://www.marchforindependence.org/site/DocServer/Imagination_Fund_Grant_Request_Form_2007final.doc?docID=381. Proposals can be submitted electronically to imaginationfund at nfb.org.

Also of interest to the Webmaster group are the page templates that will be available through the xCatalyst tool, the content managment system we are using for www.nfb.org. You'll remember that the proposal images are only in the design stage. All I can offer is a possibly useless Web graphic at this stage. In other words, nothing remotely accessible.

If folks want to view the affiliate home page template, point a browser to:
http://www.nfb.org/images/nfb/images/affiliatetemplatehomepage.jpg
View the affiliate second level page template at:
http://www.nfb.org/images/nfb/images/affiliatetemplatesecondlevel.jpg
If the image looks blurry, the browser may automatically be resizing the image. Zoom in to view the full size image.

I can put together a textual description if there is interest. The layout is similar to that of the national site with a different menu structure. Shades of the yellow and blue colors from the Whozit logo are accentuated.

Happy Labor Day.

Regards,
John
