[Nfb-web] Roland CD2

Hello Peter. While I'm sure this unit would do a lot, it may be overkill.
Much of what these recorders do can be accomplished with audio editing 
software, such as Sound Forge. The key for a recording to be successful is 
to have a clean signal to the recording device. In other words, it needs to 
not be overdriven which causes clipping, and not have added background 
noise.
The rest of the cleanup can be done later.
I would also rather record to flash memory than a CD since a CD is another 
thing to buy and/or lose.
I'm sure these units serve their purpose, however.
There are some nice flash-based recording systems that are rack-mountable as 
well, which I may look at. I like the Olympus, though, since it's portable 
and can remain within my travel bag, keeping the possibility of doing remote 
broadcasts.
