Hello Gary and listers,

In my search for digital mixers I've looked at units with a built-in
recorder for exactly that reason. That way if your PC goes down you still
have the recording unit in the mixer capturing the audio.

I subscribe to several digital-audio production podcasts. In a show
about recording live events the presenter also stressed the importance of
having more than one device recording the event audio or video. The devices
I've checked out allow you to record to compact flash cards, or you can burn
the recording directly to CD from within the unit. I'm hoping to have my
setup by the national convention provided no other major purchases get in
the way.

This is a most interesting question but it leaves me wondering if we are
wise to place all our eggs in one basket. Might we not be better off to use
a stand-alone digital recorder or at least something not tied to one laptop.

hi all,

Could someone give suggestions for a software app to record audio going into
the mic jack of a sound card?
While using winamp and shoutcast to send audio to the internet, what program
could be run at the same time to capture the same audio for archival files?
thanks,
Bryan
