Good afternoon everyone,
At 2-00 P.M. Central Standard time the brand new World-Wide Web Site of
the National Federation of the Blind of Tennessee went live to the World.
The inspiration for the development of this site arose from the March
Webcast of the 2006 Annual Convention of the National Federation of the
Blind of Tennessee, and has been under development for several months. Those
who heard the NFB of Tennessee Convention Web cast can relive that
convention as all four sessions of the convention are available for on-line
listening or downloading from this Web site along with other audio and video
content including both text and audio versions of Dr. Jernigan's Banquet
Speeches. All speeches can be read on-line, or downloaded in ASCII, Rich
Text, or Microsoft Word File Formats as can many other text documents on
this Web Site. Most Jernigan Banquet Speeches are available in .MP3 File
Format for listening or downloading. Other than the NFB Jernigan Institute's
Web Site this is currently the only other NFB Web Site where you can hear an
actual demonstration of the Kurzweil NFB Reader. For a start-up Web Site
there's lots of content to explore. I'll be meeting with the Tennessee folks
during the national convention to obtain additional information to add to
the site following the convention.
On behalf of President Michael Seay, and the members of the National
Federation of the Blind of Tennessee I want to send out a special thanks to
David Andrews, Mike Freeman, and Steve Jacobson for making it possible to
host this Web site, including the 2006 NFB of Tennessee Convention audio on
NFB Net. It took the brain-power of all four of us to do the necessary
troubleshooting to enable this content to be hosted and to run properly.
Those wanting information about the federation's activities in Tennessee
can obtain it from this new and dynamic Web Site. To visit the NFB of
Tennessee point your browser to:

Enjoy exploring our Tennessee Affiliate's new home on the Web.
