[Nfb-web] the value of state web sites

I would hate to see National take in all state web sites into its
umbrella. Somes sites may need more improvement than others, but overall, I
think the affiliates ought to be able to uniquely distinguish themselves.
Aside from state-specific resources, I would hold that affiliate sites
should offer an accessible network to strengthen communication between
chapters and divisions. They ought to offer the means to register as
members for people living in remote parts of the state and offer an archive
of state or chapter publications. Mind you, these are just some of the more
traditional suggestions. Best of luck to you in the strengthening of your
site. There are more than enough people here to make it happen.

I was just wondering what you all see as the purpose of your state web sites
and whether you have seen any benefits from them? We have a very old state
website that we really need to decide what to do with. Does national plan
to eventually bring all state websites under it's own umbrella, so to speak?
It's a little hard to think of what to do, since our state affiliate isn't
particularly active anyway, which I suppose is a much more important issue,
but... I know that a web site will not be a panacea for all our problems,
but what should we expect from one?
