[nfb-talk] Need Advice: Chapter Meeting Locationsand Programming

In Eugene, the local TVIs, many of their students, and parents have a
monthly breakfast. Each month they have it at a different restaurant,
chosen by a student. It's an ice-breaker for teachers and parents, and a
good bit of real-world practice for the students. It's also a good social
affair, and the food is usually pretty tasty.

After the restaurant is selected (immediately following the last meeting),
one of the TVIs collects a menu from the place to get a dozen or so
Braille menus printed up. The menus are gifted to the restaurant a few
days before the breakfast so that they have them for future occasions that
a Braille reader might need them.

I do no know if they print them also in large print, but it would
certainly be easy to do, and would help the restaurant know that their
Braille menus are out of date and need revision.

Chapter meetings should not move around that much I think unless there's a
very good system for helping people know where to go and how to get there,
but the idea works out very nicely I think.
