They will tell you when the cars are doing these things illegally. *grin*
No seriously, that's what they do--they tell you the state of the signal.
Good to know, but it doesn't do much to tell you when to cross or when not
to cross. A little paranoia on the part of a pedestrian is a good thing.
And certainly, one should not argue with any person/object that is more
than twice their mass. Car wants to go? It goes, I'll wait.
