I'm still looking into getting a braille display. I've located software for text phone use as I simply cannot see well enough to use my minicom any more.
The thing is I'd also like to continue using zoomtext for as long as I can. I'm been advised to use Jaws. Does anyone here know if you can use Jaws and Zoom on the same computer? I've asked around and have been given contradictory advise on wether this is possible.
Also what braille displays are the best? Are there any to be avoided? All advise would be very greatfully recieved. I'm hoping to get this sorted out soon as having no phone use is worrying in case an emergency should take place between now and then, in which I'd need the phone. I am probably going to have to switch to another company as the company I was having dealings with seemed to be dragging it's feet. They were supposed to get back to me on tuesday. It's sunday now and I've heard apsolutely nothing more.
I'm also having difficulties convincing my dad on exactly why I need a braille display when I can manage with Zoom. I don't know how to convince him without sounding alarmist. I don't want to upset him if it can be avoided as he has a heart condition but having a braille display would provide great peace of mind incase I can't always use Zoom and there are times when I am forced to go off the computer sooner then I want because my eyes are hurting too much.
Helene.
