I found it in selected stories of eric frank Russell and in another book
called dark tides You can, as far as I can see, get it from amazon.com

I'm looking for a copy of "minor ingredient" by Eric Frank Russell.  It's a
story Dr. Jernigan use to read at seminars.  Does anybody have a text copy
or know where I can get it?
