I have been asked to post the following:
Dave
My name is Carla Novi and I'm a visual artist that lives in Houston. I
recently started an art project where I'm trying to collaborate with
blind people. The purpose of my project is, first of all, to educate
people about what blindness really is, and second, to create a
dialogue between blind and non-blind people. I'm looking for blind
people that can volunteer to answer some questions in order to help me
re-difine some basic concepts. Here is a list of
six questions. You can answer as many as you
like. It can be one or two or all of them if you
have time
Anything will help. Please send your
answers via e-mail to
<mailto:carlitanovi at gmail.com>carlitanovi at gmail.com. Thanks!
* What is beauty?
* When I dream, what I can remember the most
is images. How do you, as a blind or visually
impaired person, dream? Which of your senses is more active in your dreams?
* Describe any or all of the four elements
(water, air, fire and earth). How do you perceive
them and what do they represent to you?
* Do you use a television? If so, how do you
use it? If you could create a television for the blind, how would it be?
* What do you think about fashion?
* What is art? Do you, as a blind or visually
impaired person feel distant from visual art? Or
do you have other ways to perceive it? If you
could create an art piece for the blind, what would it be?
