NLS DOES, NOT, support sofware playback of digital talking books. You are
correct in thinking you can't play back the book using FS reader. At this
time, the Victor Stream is the only player I know of which you can use.
This will be the case until NLS comes out with its own digital player in
2008. Sorry for the bad news my friend.
Oh, the Stream will run you about $330.00 or so.

Sincerely yours,
The Constantly Barefooted,
Ray

Subject: [nfb-talk] FS Reader and NLS Pilot Program

Hello all,

I recently joined the NLS Pilot Program. To access the book I downloaded I
purchased the FS Desktop Reader to access the book on my computer. Yet I
have this growing suspicion the software cannot open the book? I see on the
NLS web site that the program has "authorized players," and I'm wondering if
a list exists somewhere. Does anyone know if FS Reader is supported, and if
not, any ideas when this is changing? Otherwise, I feel pretty stupid
laying down eighty bucks for something that is not going to function.
Thanks for any help.--Joe Orozco
