Hi Eric and Others;
The NFB convention is my vacation and my means of learning more about
the NFB. I love the exibit hall and have fun trying out all the new
equipment and joining in all the games and sales, to help different
states. I love it just the way it is. If it were shorter, there would
not be room for advancement and the ability to try other committees. As
of now, I have a hard time going to everything that I have interest in,
mainly because of overlap.
The convention is my freedom and independence away from my family, work
and home and I love it.

Subject: Re: [nfb-talk] shortening the Convention
Hello, listers, Eric here:
I'd like to respond to Liz Campbell, who is in favor of shortening the
Convention by one day. I take exception to this, especially if an
organization, such as the National Federation of the Blind, will benefit
from those changes.
Let's fac it: when I go to a National Convention, I want to get _the
_maximum of my Convention experience. Also, many hotels are going to
start charging the Federation $100.00 or more, or even close to $95.00 a
night.
While I feel that this is an unpopular move, I say: Let's not shorten
the Convention.
Eric
