Yesterday afternoon, a good friend and admired colleague in the blindness
profession, Rosemary Lerdahl, passed away of a heart attack. For the many
students of hers throughout the country and the world she will be remembered
as a kind and wonderful teacher and leader. To her family and friends she
will be missed as a light of calm and peace in our lives and an always
optimistic presence in a world where hope can be elusive.
Rosemary Lerdahl worked for over thirty years in the blindness field,
touching the lives of literally thousands of people. We will all miss her
and will strive to walk in her kind and wise steps.
At this time I do not know of plans for her funeral or memorial but will get
word out as soon as it is available.
