Don,
 
There was nothing wrong with with the content of your message.  What you
and some others do is that instead of just doing a "Respond", you do the
"Respond to all" option.  That generates multiple emails in the in box
of at least the person to whom you are responding.  I am not sure, but
it might even send duplicates to everybody on the list.  
 
I use Outlook 2003 for email.  Other programs may do things differently.
In the Outlook Actions Menu there is a "Reply" option and a "reply to
All" option.  I was just trying to get list members to use the "Reply"
option instead of the "Reply to All" option.
 
Where I may have a fended some was in suggesting that if the responder
did not want to reply to the list, they go back-channel.
