Hello Michael and listers,
I believe that's what they call, "Wiping out" right?

Hi Josh:
I've done some surfing. It's not really difficult. Yes, you may not always
be able to tell which wave is the big one because that is done visually, but
if you get on a good beach you can go out beyond the breakers and surf back
in. The trick for people, whether sighted or blind, is to get the board
moving toward the shore at a good clip and the next wave will pick you up
and you'll be riding it. Now, there are certainly a lot of techniques for
riding particular parts of waves which you can learn by feel and you'll
certainly learn how to get off of a wave when you want to. You'll even
learn what happens when you get off of a wave involuntarily as in being
flipped over and tumbling through the surf. It's a lot of fun. Personally,
I like boogy boarding as much as surfing. You're closer to the water and
can literally feel the waves with your hands in order to understand how they
work.
