dear Corey, I am one of those who lost her vision at age 41 and it took a process of 6 years to go totally blind. In the beginning my husband helped my blind friends with all their errands and go places with us and never minded. When I lost all my sight he just couldn't deal with it, he locked himself away from our sonand I and when he came home from work and only made the transition for all of us harder. I asked for the divorce which everyone thought was crazy, but I couldn't live that way and my son was beginning to think that was a normal way of life. Today we are good friends and we help each other in what ever ways we need. It was the best move I ever made. I did learn that you can not expect to make your spouse a chauffeur for your friends, eventually they resent it. They want time for the two of you. He still helps my friends but I know where the limit is. Randi RabinerP.s. I am a former National Car employee from Boca Raton who lost her job along with700 others. It was my first job after going blind. I had always worked in the travel field when I was sighted and it was a natural transition.
