Of course you are!!!
Seriously, I am thinking of buying a digital camera. Mike, you know me pretty well, and I think a lot of the stuff about blind photography is junk. It is, as you say, blind and sighted alike trying to make blind persons sighted.
However, I am thinking of buying a camera for two reasons:
1. I can get others to take pictures of me and my kids, and
2. I am going to try and take pictures of my kids. I figure I can take lots of pictures, and maybe with some coaching and practice, I can learn to get some usable shots. Digital photography only takes storage space, and I can go through pictures with somebody, and discard the bad ones easily, and keep the good ones, storing them and/or getting them printed.
With film, this was to expensive to do -- and I tried a couple times. There weren't enough good pictures to justify it, but with digital, if I take 50 pictures and discard 49, I get one good picture, and have only spent time.
