Cathy;
You could put the money in a joint accout with one of your sisters until
you can go to medicare and check it out. You might call NFB. They have
some knowledgeable people that might know the answers. They even have
some Braille literature on medicare, or can tell you where to get it. I
think I got it at convention. Another option is a cd or ira, for when
you reach retirement age.
Just a few ideas.

Good Afternoon.
Ok, I am on Medicade and Medicare. Our Dad passed away last month
and all four of us girls are getting some money from his estate.I was
told that I could deposit the money in my checking account but, I forgot
to ask about being on medicade and medicare. How does this affect those
two? Oh ya, how does this affect my food stamps if you know.? I am from
Indiana and do not want to rattle the laws in Indiana.lol Thank You
Cathy
