You should check on that. If you truly can only have that much in savings, 
then your dad's money *would* make a difference. However, before becoming 
too worked-up, check to see if what you've been told is true. I'm not old 
enough for Medicare and Medicaid is different for each state so I can't even 
venture a decent opinion, let alone give you good advice.

Mike. I am also on medicare and medicade. I think at one time I was told 
that I could only have $ 1300.00 in my checking or savings. Does this apply 
to the monies I will be getting from Dad's estate? thank you

Yes, I am talking about my Social Security Disability not S.S.I. So,
I do not have to worry? Is ther a limit as to what we get? We will be

If my assumption is correct, the inheritance will not affect the SSDI.
However, if you are speaking of SSI, then there is a limit that a person can
have in assets.
