I don't understand what was wrong with telling a five-year-old that.  It's true, and you're putting it in the way in which a kid can understand.

I recently had something which happened to me. My five year old niece, walked up to me, and she said, "Uncle RJ, see the fishies?" "Ashley Uncle RJ can't see baby." My sister told her. "Ashley my eyes don't work. "RJ You're an embarrassment to all blind people! I thought. NFB members would not  tell that to a five year old!" Now, had you been in this same situation, What would you have told Ashley? RJ Sandefur
