Dear Listers:
This is Chris Jones in Tacoma, Washington. I am very interested to know if there are any folks out there who know of anyone who is blind who may work at a sleep disorder center doing sleep studies. I have been in contact with an instructor at a local community college and the dilema we seem to believe exists is that, first of all, techs need to be able to see by looking at the video cameras in the patients' rooms if they are breathing or making an effort to breathe. The other difficulty is that the computer puts this information out initially graphically. I am wondering if anyone with more technical expertise might know of a way to be able to use Job Access With Speech or a similar software which could enable me to understand this information. Ultimately, I'm told this information is available digitally, but the times of the paper copy are past and all of this information is handled via computer graphics now.
Please feel free to respond to me either on list or privately at chris_l_jones at earthlink.net
Thank you all.
