Hello again everyone,
A while back I posted a message concerning the possibility of NAGDU
forming a team of guide dog users to march in this year's March for
Independence in Atlanta this summer. Today one person contacted me to among
other things let me know that they wanted to participate. There are at least
two people who want to form a team of guide dog users to walk in the march
this summer. There are a number of guide dog users and NAGDU members
registered to participate in the march. I'm sure they're hard at work
raising the required amount so they can participate.
We have one person who told me they definitely want to march on a NAGDU
Team. If anyone else wishes to be on our team please contact me so I can
turn in a list of names to Kristi Bowman so she can create the team on the
March for Independence Web Site. You must have all ready registered for the
march in order to be included in the list of initial team members. Once the
team is created those who wish to join Team Nagdu can do so from the march
for Independence Web site:
http://www.marchforindependence.org
Folks we have a wonderful opportunity to not only raise funds to support
the Imagination Fund and the programs of the NFB Jernigan Institute, but to
march to show solidarity with our NFB brothers and sisters to end the myth
that NFB does not support the use of a guide dog for independent travel.
Anyone wanting to be included on TEAM NAGDU should contact me at:

I hope to hear from folks in the coming days and will let everyone know
when our team is created. Before I wind it up I should mention that our
Sports and Recreation Division plans to have some of its members rollerblade
the route. Another federationist is hoping to organize a marching band so
why not a Team NAGDU? Let's make it happen!
