At the risk of reviving old stereotypes, I'm wondering what you're doing
with that cup.

On another issue, I've heard that life is like a bowl full of cherries but I
don't know how to finish the sentence:
"Life is like a cup of..." 
Frankly, when Kandi raised the initial question of having a handle on life,
I tried not to picture it.  I just kept putting the handle on it and
watching it fall off, but never really looked directly at what it was.
I'm not sure I want to.
Well, that's my two cents worth.  And, I wonder if we ought to inflate that
old saying.  Good grief, who cares about anything if it's only worth two
cents.  Even two bits isn't very much.  How about Two bucks worth?

The problem with gluing the handle back on is that the crack always shows. 
For the rest of your life people say, "He's cracked."  And how can you argue
with them.

My recommendation is to get the handle really hot and jam it back on, hoping
the materials will sort of flow together.  Now, keep in mind that this
doesn't last very long and usually leaves you with a pretty weak  handle on
life, but, that's pretty much what everybody else has anyway.
