Hello Vaughn and listers,

A very reliable source told me recently that there will not be
Internet
streaming of the convention sessions this year. However an increasing
number
of divisions, and individuals are now making post-convention audio
streams
and downloads available via the net for listening. I would check Voice
of
the Nation's Blind for convention updates, and any coverage that may be
offered. There will also be some individuals offering pod casts of
convention activities as well. I know for a fact that both the National
Association of Blind Students, (NABS), and the National Association of
Guide
Dog Users, (NAGDU) will make audio archives of their meetings available
following the 2006 national convention. I know because I helped arrange
this
for NAGDU. My wife Mary and I made a financial contribution to NAGDU to
make
this possible.

For those interested you can listen to or download archives of the
2006
NFB of Tennessee State Convention from their Web site which I
constructed.
The URL is:
http://www.nfb-tennessee.org/conventions/nfbtn2006.php

The URL for Voice of the Nation's Blind is:
http://www.voiceofthenationsblind.org

Take care all and have a good week. Mary and I will be heading to
Dallas
in a few hours.

Hello everyone.

A regular lurker and occasional poster from New Zealand. I think my
last
posts concerned Hurricane Katrina and my interest in tracking down
Louisiana folk that I knew.

Just wondering what the level of Convention coverage will be this year?
I
have fond memories of my time at the Dallas Convention in I'D, and watch
each year's NFB Convention developments with a sense that I should be
going
there but oh well!

The next best thing is coverage on the net, so I wonder if there are
plans
to stream the general sessions, banquet etc and the Board of Directors
meeting. Session archives would be great if there are plans to post
these,
as I can then listen at a New Zealand civilised time.

Whatever happens - hope everyone has a wonderful time and i'll be there
in
spirit.

Vaughan.
