The problem Kathy describes is caused because the suggest names while
typing is turned off. The following instructions are for Outlook 2003.
They may very somewhat for other versions of Outlook.

1. Use ALT-T to bring up the "Tools" menu.
2. Arrow up to the "Options" menu item and press ENTER.
3. Tab to the "Email Options" choice and press Enter. It is located
on the "Preferences Tab."
4. Tab to the "Advanced Options" menu item and press ENTER.
5. Tab down until you see "Suggest names when typing To, CC and BCC
fields" and CHECK MARK IT.
6. Tab to the OK Button and press ENTER.
7. Repeat #6 until you are totally out of the menus.

In this outlook Menu, there are many things that you can modify to
change how Outlook performs. I have tried many of them. They are easy
to modify and then change back. I suggest modifying one or two items at
a time and trying them out to see how you like them.

DO NOT WORRY IF YOU MESS UP. Outlook has a restore Defaults Option that
will reset all settings to the Factory Defaults. Just make sure you
have your POP 3 information written down where you can access it.
Restoring the Default settings will require you to reset your POP 3
settings as well.

Dear Kathy and All,

I would be interested in learning how to use OUTLOOK as well.
This way I will be able to synchronize my computer with my note taker
and
other devices.
I would appreciate any help.
My e-mail address is drevans at bellsouth.net

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to convert from Outlook Express to Outlook. I am
experiencing
some difficulty in making the change over and would appreciate some
assistance from those of you who have been using the program.

Please feel free to write to me off list at kdavisnfbf at cfl.rr.com

I moved my addresses from Outlook Express to Outlook but am having
difficulty getting names into the various fields when I want to send a
new
message. I can type my own name and the last name does not jump in
there as
is the case in Outlook Express. Also, the individual from DBS who
assisted
me set me up to use the contacts in Outlook instead of the address book.
I
can't find any names in the address book. Sure hope you can help. I
never
have time for this type of thing when I am working so wanted to get this

change over up and going before I return to the college next Tuesday.

If you can help, I would be happy to give you a call as I have flat rate

long distance.

Thanks in advance,

Kathy Davis
