[nfb-talk] some of this is not true.

While I am not calling this student a liar I think she was perhaps not as
impartial as she should be. True some volunteers try too hard to assist
but frankly we can all say NO. As for cleaning up after the dogs ACB
members are in fact expected to clean up after their dogs. however the
volunteers and hotel staff along with the pooper scooper agencie often
had to clean up for those who were irrresponsible. However if you are
caught leaving your doggies mess and someone spots you a fine is added to
your hotel bill. Some people whether in NFB or ACB simply do not care.
As for socializing this is true but lets be frank the only reason more
people attend NFB sessions is for the door prizes. I remeber those days
sittting in meetings for hours taliking among ourselves should our name
actually be called. Also state affiliates make sure that NFB members are
there to help the vote. IN ACB some states as in Missouri give stipends
to help with conventions expenses if you take one you are expected to
attend all general session. Unfortunately in both conventions some folks
come for vacation more than the actual convention. It is a cheap way to
have a week in a new place.
