If Europe can unite multiple countries to a common currency, the US can

Exactly.  It would take years and maybe decades.  Which is fine if they
accept that it will take that long--as I said it will be nice to know that
blind grandchildren will not have to worry about it quite as much.

But for us here and now, this decision means nothing.
