Dear Judy,
You will find that the market for these shirts can be kind of limited,
mostly to the blind themselves. This is why they sell very well at
conventions and such but not so much to the general public.
They are a nice shirt, but their interest group is limited.
You will likely make more money on candy bar or hot dog sales.
Contact your local Wall-Mart and see if they have a hot dog wagon.
Many of them do and you can sign up to sell hot dogs, chips and cold drinks
over a weekend.
I have the materials list and most of the Wall-Marts will let you open a
"running" account to buy drinks, chips and such from right inside the store
and then settle up at the end.
If you want more info, let me know.
They also might even match what you raise.
If you need more manpower, contact a church or lion's club or even a boy
scout troop to help do the cooking, and to man the doors for donations.
We made $1600.00 , after expenses, the last time we did it over a Friday,
Saturday and Sunday, with a total of about 10 to 12 people helping to do
everything.
We also did a bake sale at the same time with donated goods and this helped.
The Braille shirts will sell, but as I said, the appeal is limited.
Joe is awaiting your call if you want to sell the shirts.
I do have 6 of them myself, in different colors, and I love to wear them to
NFB events.
Joe Naulty's phone number is (561) 753-4700.
