Hi Michelle. I would suggest that you enroll in whatever course you are
most interested in and just deal with the problems as they arise. Someone
else's low expectations don't have to be your own.

That being said, do you know what aspects of the course are likely to pose a
problem? It's difficult to offer concrete solutions without knowing what
the obstacles are.

Thanks, and keep believing in your self.

Aaron

Subject: [Nfb-science] college

Hello everyone,
My name is Michel I am a totally blind person who is new to the list. I am
currently attending college for computer network systems. There is also
another visually impaired student with a lot of useful site who also attends
this college. He told me that I have set myself up for failure by enrolling
myself into computer network systems. He also said that I would have no
problem if I enrolled into the course that he is in which is computer
electrical engineering. The dean of the college told me that the computer
network systems course was accessible and that he would get me anything that
I needed to be successful. Now he doesn't seem so sure because of what the
other student is saying. Myself and the other student are the first visually
impaired people to attend this college. Can someone please tell me what are
the advantages and disadvantages of these two careers? Also I would love to
know about any obstacles that was in your way that you overcame or that is
still an obstacle to you. Please share your school and work experiences.
Thanks in advance! Feel free to use my email address at
