I have now downloaded the Mac (well Mac and Linux) version of MathTrax, it
seems to work with my data files, so seems to be a possibility. I think I
prefer the sound of the AGC audio plotter, the MathTrax one seems a bit
coarse, although I don't know of anything equivilent to MathTrax which is as
accessible on Linux (it seems to work very well with Orca from the quick
stuff I have done). If nothing else shows up, this will be sufficient.

The mac version is an executable jar, and it works on Linux.

I noticed that there is a PC version (I assume windows only as it is a

file) and a mac version, any Linux version? Would it be hard for a Linux
port if there isn't, considering it is written in java?

Have you tried MathTrax, Michael? It can handle time series data and has
been used successfully on large data files. It expects column headings,
and the first column needs to be in ascending order. You can get
MathTrax for free here:

Hello,
I tried the AGC with the data I am producing from my computer
simulations, but I am having trouble importing the data, it keeps
crashing when I try to load the data. My two observations between data I
have exported from AGC and the data I am trying to import, my data has
unix line endings rather than the windows style line endings, and the
accuracy of my data is greater than 3 decimal places whereas the AGC
data seems to be to 3 decimal places (for the Y values, my Y values need
to be to more than 3 decimal places because all values are fractional,
and oscillations should be in the size of about 0.01-0.05 around 0.49).
Also I don't know if this is an issue, but my data file contains about
1000 data points. Any suggestions how my data needs to be altered to be
used in the AGC?
If failing that, anyone else know anything else which can cope with such
data files?
I will also see if my university can sort something out for getting
someone to describe the graphs to me, but at this stage it also would be
nice to be able to try and view the output immediately rather than wait,
then find it isn't quite right, go away do what I think might correct
it, wait until I can meet with the person, etc (it almost goes back to
the days of programming by punching cards, sending those for processing
by the computer, and then the next week find you made a simple mistake).
