Hi all,
This is Kelly Wills. In the fall I will be starting my freshman year of
college at Wright State University majoring in Engineering Physics.
Engineering Physics is a joint effort between the departments of Physics and
Electrical Engineering at Wright State. In 2005 I was a participant in the
Rocket On! Science Academy, and this year I am an EXCEL intern. I am
currently working in the Micro Devices Lab at NASA's Jet Propulsion
Laboratory on a tunable laser spectrometer for the Mars Science Lab, which
will be leaving for Mars in the fall of 2009. Also, I am an active ham
radio (amateur radio) operator. My call sign is N8XQ.
I look forward to the networking and information this division has to offer,
and I hope to help the membership grow.
Kelly Wills, Vice President
Science and Engineering Division

Hello, this is John Miller. I invite each of you to share something about
yourself and your interest in science and/or engineering. Before telling
you something about myself I'd like to introduce the board of the S&E
Division:
John Miller - president
Kelly Wills - vice president
Nathanael Wales - secretary
Al Maneki - treasurer
Brian Buhrow - 1st board mem
Dave Sayman - 2nd board member
I hope you will enjoy getting to know these fine individuals and each
other and that, together, we can make a more competitive group of blind
professionals.
Here is my intro:
I am a systems engineer. I recently started working at NextWave Broadband
in San Diego. I am reading much new material to me from IEEE articles to
wireless standards prepared in the Nemeth Braille code. I work with
circuit design, graphics, and complex print math notations in my job. I am
enjoying re-learning middle school science as I help my son, Collin, with
his homework. And I am very happy to have the help and support of my wife,
Roxanne, in helping make the science division go. Please share a story
about your successes in science or engineering or a blindness related
problem that you have faced.
Sincerely,
John Miller, President
Science and Engineering Division
