Dear NFB River City Chapter Members and Friends:

It's now turned March 1--and that means that this Saturday, March 3, is the date of our next regular National Federation of the Blind River City Chapter meeting. We'll begin at 10:30 A.M. at the State Capitol, Room 317. And you won't want to miss this meeting!

We'll hear a report from two of our leaders who visited our NFB of San Francisco Chapter for a demonstration of the latest and most innovative in accessible pedestrian signals--these aren't old school chirpers and tweeters. We'll hear from members who attended Tuesday's demonstration of an innovative, interactive virtual audio tour of one of my current employer's--the California Department of Water Resources'--key facilities at our Oroville Dam: the fish hatchery. We'll plan for our upcoming March for Independence at our National Convention, including spending some time discussing some sponsorship tips and even practicing in groups of fellow members asking family and friends to sponsor each of us in the march.

We'll also make some important leadership decisions, including filling the office of secretary. Now is your time to step up in leadership either in an office or leading any of our chapter projects. Please plan to come and make a difference in the future of our NFB chapter!

We'll adjourn as conscientiously close to 12:30 P.M. as possible and head to lunch at a nearby restaurant. Please plan now to join us for lunch and good fellowship.

If you have questions in the meantime, the best way to reach me is on my mobile phone at (530) 219-2573. First Vice-president Tiffany Manosh may also be reached by replying on this listserve or by phone at (916) 966-8822. I hope to see ya'll on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at the Capitol!
