The following announcement will be of particular interest to our senior citizen members living in Yolo County--or traveling on the routes in Yolo County on the dates indicated.  Enjoy this opportunity to take the bus and appreciate the transit system I use every day!

YOLOBUS To Give Free Rides to Seniors on October 24th!

YOLOBUS has announced that seniors age 62 and over may ride both YOLOBUS and YOLOBUS Special for FREE on Tuesday, October 24th. 

Governor Schwarzenegger has declared October 22-28th as "Senior Safe Mobility Week."   As part of that program, activists in the region have suggested that transit operators invite seniors to ride their systems for free, as a way of motivating safe mobility, especially by seniors who are no longer able to drive.   

The Yolo County Transportation District Board of Directors recently authorized free YOLOBUS rides to Seniors on Tuesday, October 24th.  This opportunity applies to YOLOBUS Special also, which is curb-to-curb service for eligible elderly who have disabilities and can't ride fixed route buses.  YOLOBUS operates over 4,500 miles each weekday, so there are lots of trips seniors will have the opportunity to take.  This includes:
