Dear NFB River City Chapter Members and Friends:
You've saved this Saturday the 6th for our National Federation of the Blind
River City Chapter meeting. You may have even saved next Monday the 8th
from 5:30 P.M. onward for Sacramento's first demonstration of the KNFB
Reader in beta test version. Now, here are the details. (And if you
haven't saved these dates and times on your calendar, save them now!)
Our regular May chapter meeting will take place this Saturday the 6th from
10:30 A.M. to about 12:30 P.M.--as regularly scheduled--at the State
Capitol, Room 317--at our usual location. Please use the N Street door to
the Capitol because the L Street door we've used since 9-11 is now closed
for construction. First Vice President Tiffany Manosh will chair the
meeting as I'll be in Burbank at an NFB of California leadership seminar.
Please give her your full support! Our agenda will include our regular
business, state affiliate and national organization updates, and local
matters including chapter outreach and our work with Regional Transit.
We'll also begin planning for our National Convention--including canceling
our July meeting--and our anniversary meeting and celebration in August.
Please plan to come and bring your thoughts, ideas, and willingness to
participate! After the meeting members will head out to lunch at a nearby
restaurant; plan to stick around for good food and networking and
fellowship.
If you have questions about Saturday's regular chapter meeting, please
contact First Vice President Tiffany Manosh at:

Then on Monday the 8th we'll be demonstrating our KNFB Reader at 5:30 P.M.
at Brew It Up at 14th and H Streets. Plan to watch this handheld reader
take on the menu--from which we'll order drinks and perhaps some appetizers,
so bring some cash! Maybe we can even challenge it with our bill and for
the first time independently divide it up. We'll also check out whatever
other print material attendees bring. You won't want to miss this
demonstration! Tell your colleagues and friends who may be interested!
If you have any questions about the KNFB Reader demonstration, please
contact me directly or reply to this message. I hope you will plan to
attend our chapter meeting on Saturday, and I hope to see you in person next
Monday at 5:30 P.M. at Brew It Up!
