Dianne;
In your message to David Andrews and NFB Talk, what does DAN stand for?

What a wonderful question!
I consider myself the pottery queen, at least here in Greeley, CO.
I am lucky enough to be taking pottery classes at AIMS Community College
here in Greeley. This is my 5th semester taking it being blind, and it
is where I have my work-study position too. Talk about getting paid for
doing something you love!!!
The people there think I rock and cannot believe I am blind. I get to
load, set, and unload the kilns all by myself! If I have a special
project like the pins I am doing for convention this year, all I have to
do is buy my own clay and glazes and I can fire for free! I guess that
is probably built into the student fees I pay at AIMS!

Hello,
First I would like to wish everyone a pleasant Easter Holiday. My excuse
this week was I had family from Texas visiting Connecticut all week.
They left yesterday to fly back home. Saturday was my middle son's
birthday and we all went out for dinner last night. So the dust is
settling back down.
This weeks question is for the ceramic and pottery folks. Give us time
we will come up with questions to cover all different crafts.
For those that were with ceramics, if you do not have your own kiln,
where do you have your firing done? How are you perceived at that place?
Are you allowed to do it yourself or assist or forced to let someone do
it for you?
If you have your own kiln, how much did it cost and where and how did
you find out enough information to purchase it?
If you use someone else kiln please give us an idea of what they charge
you to use it.
Is the same type of kiln used for pottery?
