I have a measuring tape that I purchased at the meterial center of NFB in  
Baltimore.  It is tactile and has large rivet type thingys every 1 inch and  
smaller ones every 1/2 inch.  It has double tactile thingys every 12 inches  and 
a different set at the yard mark.
 
I believe the tape was $$5.  Well worth it as I use it for sewing and  lots 
of other things.
