Dave,
Artists would be considered fine arts. While there are some blind ones out
there, I have not found very many. My first bachelors degree is in
photography and I still do that as I am able. Drawing on the other hand, I
would like to find ways to do making it tactile. This is the group that I
came to seeking advice in this area. I have not been able to find other
blind artists that draw. The ones that I know personally, work in ceramics
and I can definitely see that fitting in with this group.
This group has also inspired me to begin learning how to knit. As an
artist, I don't see there being a difference between crafters. It would be
nice if we could come up with a more sophisticated sounding name. Arts and
Crafts is inclusive but I also see the point someone already made about it
sounding like an elementary school class.
Lorraine, what does the SCA consider people that sell their wares at Ren
festivals?
