Thank you Carolyn for the lovely welcome. You gave me an idea to look into.
My former church has a group where they make prayer shawls for sick people.
I wonder if any of those gals knows anyone locally that has works a knitting
machine. Thanks for the great idea!

Hugs,
Becky and Jake

Hi Becky,
Great to have you here. I hale now from Northern Virginia. I saw a
knitting machine on the Martha Stewart show about a month ago while someone
was demonstrating hat making projects. It was a non-electric one. I was
taking my dog (pet Sheltie) out at the time and missed the name and brand.
When I went to
http://www.marthastewart.com
and clicked on the daily show entry, only the project was mentioned and not
the brand of machine. I'd love to learn more about them too, but don't want

to make a bad choice of purchase either with no one to show me how it works.
We just began a knitting group in our condo complex here which begins
meeting on the first Sun. in each month, so that's a possibility here.

Hello everyone, I am the new kid on the block, Becky from Washington State.
I am married with two wonderful golden retrievers. My husband is presently
going to add to our pup family with a labby dabby dore. Baxter is my
retired guide dog and Jake is my working guide dog. Anyone want to spin
golden fur, giggle.

When I was twelve years old my mom introduced me to crocheting and knitting.
So for thirty plus years I have enjoyed making all sorts of wonderful things
to wear and share. I have had a few commission pieces as well. In junior
high and high school I wore my own creation sweaters to school. But really
afghans and simple things go fast and make great gifts.

As the subject line suggests, I am interested in knitting machines. Are
there any machine knitters on list? How did you get started? Which
machines are better to start on? Are there brands of machines better then
others?

I can be reached at:

many thanks for letting me join the group. If I can help, let me know. Oh,
smile, I am normally not a lerker on lists. But I am not going to jump into
a subject I know little about.

Becky and Jake
